Dr. Whitney Reed

Veterinarian

Dr. Whitney Reed’s love of animals started at a young age. As a kid, she didn’t need a babysitter; her mom would just drop her off at the horse farm. Learning to ride, mucking stalls, helping feed- it didn’t matter, she was certain back then that she would be a veterinarian.

Dr. Reed brings that certainty and passion to Laurel Oaks Veterinary Center. A graduate of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine (Geaux Tigers!), Dr. Reed has 20 years of experience at a wide variety of small animal clinics and emergency hospitals. Dr. Reed is passionate about dentistry, dermatology, and internal medicine. She has a special interest in helping senior pets thrive and helping their owners navigate end of life care.

She, her husband, Patrick, and sons, Logan and Lucas, moved to Auburn in 2024 from New Orleans. They have enjoyed making the Loveliest Village on the Plains their new home and are equally thankful that they can still root for Tigers!

When she’s not caring for your critters, Dr. Reed lavishes her own pets with love- two dogs, Moose, a big boned Boston Terrier, and CC, a Catahoula mix that Embark tells us is mostly Chihuahua(!), and two cats, Walter and Niko. Dr. Reed enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercise, and shopping local boutiques.
